Team A has the ball 1st and 10 from the A-25. Team A breaks the huddle and starts to head to the line of scrimmage. The snapper puts his hand on the ball, the left guard and tackle get set and put their hand on the ground which is lined up in the neutral zone. The backs and receivers are still getting set and the snap is not eminent. The linemen realize they are lined up a little too far and they scoot back. The rest of the offense then gets set and the snap does become eminent and the ball is about to be put in play. Do we have anything?

It’s never too early to start getting in shape for the season. As fitness for life is always a goal for every day health reasons, some of us may need to do a little extra preparation for the season. Maybe starting with some light jogs around the neighborhood and maybe even some sprints. You never know when you’ll have a 70-yard run and have a play at the goal line you need to see. Some of these 7th graders are FAST! Let alone varsity.
It is always good to know your limits and not get hurt out on the field. Exercising at home may be able to help you test your limits.
Stay hydrated! August and September can be hot! Make sure to drink water the whole week before a game. If you have to hydrate the day of, it may be too late. Keep an eye on players safety and hydration as well. Lot of players go down with cramps and will throw up early in the season. It is ok to take an official timeout during the game so us and both teams can stay hydrated. This is good to communicate with coaches pre-game that there will be a few extra timeouts given per quarter or maybe that the timeouts and change of possessions time will be extended.
7-1-3-C states it is a dead ball foul for encroachment if: Once the snapper is established, no other team A player may be in or beyond the neutral zone.
Furthermore 7-1-2-B-3 states it is a false start if a restricted linemen (which is defined under 2-27-4) moves their hands. This means once a restricted linemen puts his hand on the ground, he is not allowed to come up.
Official Ruling would be encroachment on the offense. dead ball foul: 5 yard penalty from the succeeding spot. Team A ball 1st and 15 from A-20 (of course Team B always has the option to decline any penalty).
